It's lovely when someone gives us flowers---there's truly nothing like it. But we here at Bagoy's Florist & Home think that sometimes, you just need to give yourself the gift of flowers.
With all of their proven health benefits, taking home a lush bowl of fresh blooms (or a plant!) is really an act of self-care. Flowers do their work on us without us really knowing it. They make for beautiful decorative pieces, sure, but they're also important reminders to slow down, embrace the moment and connect with nature. Read More about Flowers That Uplift The Soul »

Galentine's Day just might be one of the most inventive and necessary of the modern holidays, taken as it was from a television comedy. On an episode of Parks and Recreation in 2010, show protagonist Leslie Knope got all of her girls together for a female-centered lunch celebrating the sisterly bonds between them. The group exchanged gifts and laughs and in the process, Galentine's Day was born. And on February 13th, more and more women are getting together to make this holiday devoted to honoring female friendship a reality. We here at Bagoy's Florist & Home are here to help you make your Galentine's dreams come true for your favorite ladies. Read More about Flowers And Chocolate For Your Besties »

On November 28, we celebrate Giving Tuesday, the last in a row of named days after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Unlike those other two, Giving Tuesday is not devoted to consumers and the marketplace, at least not usually. Unless you're shopping flowers at Bagoy's Florist & Home, that is. Giving Tuesday can become even more rich and meaningful when you combine it with the giving of flowers, creating two recipients - your loved one and your favorite charity - instead of just one. The idea of National Boss Day originated in 1958, when Patricia Bays Haroski registered the holiday with the United States Chamber of Commerce. She chose October 16 as an homage to her father's birthday, and her goal was to show appreciation for her boss at State Farm Insurance Company. She also imagined that the day could serve to enhance the relationship between employees and supervisors. In 1962, Illinois Governor Otto Kerner officially proclaimed the day, which has grown in popularity and is observed not only in the United States, but also in Australia, India, and South Africa.
At Bagoy's Florist & Home, we believe that anyone who is a great leader deserves a little recognition. So for the encouragers, the promoters, and those who make our workplace a fun place to be, we say thank you! If you want to thank your great boss for all they do, we are here to help.
