We at Bagoy’s Florist and Home are excited to share that International Floral Distributors has released its predicted trends for 2018 in the area of floral design. And at the top of the list is Magnificent Mediterranean, a look we know a thing or two about.

More than any of the other three trends identified, Magnificent Mediterranean speaks to the traveler’s spirit. It’s a luxe, free-form look filled with flowers in colors of orange, blue and gold. These arrangements intend to evoke a sense of adventure and history. They’re the kind of rich design that you have to keep looking at.

IFD mentions that this style includes the use of hand-painted vessels and pedestals, giving the flowers themselves the kind of formal presentation they deserve. Citrus and other fruits can be incorporated into tablescapes that utilize this approach, as well as big blooms like sunflowers. We think our Firenze Flowers is the perfect example of this trend.

That pop of blue is crucial; it references the Mediterranean Sea and completes that palette along with the peach roses and orange dahlias.
