Celebrating International Women’s Day

women's day

Every March since 1977, the United Nations and the United States have endorsed the initiative known as International Women’s Day, a global campaign that recognizes social justice efforts affecting women around the world. This holiday, started over 100 years ago, has steadily been gaining more traction as the world gets smaller and more connected by the internet and social media. By taking the time to really appreciate all that women have contributed to our societies and cultures, we can look forward to helping women still in the struggle to achieve peace and freedom.

In times past, courageous women have confronted social stigmas and made huge advancements toward a better world for everyone. Women as diverse as Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Parks and Georgia O’Keefe have used their talents and platforms, not to mention their voice, to advance the rights of women in this country. However, there are many women who will never make it into the history books – but are still making influential contributions into the lives of others, and the cause of womens’ rights. On March 8th, the floral experts at Bagoy’s Florist are prepared to create the floral arrangements that will recognize local women for their individual impact on the lives around them.

At Bagoy’s Florist & Home, we are passionate about creating floral arrangements and bouquets to honor the special people in your life. This month, as we celebrate International Women’s Day, allow us to send a beautiful token of respect to someone you love.
