There are so many amazing individuals in the Anchorage area who do the most important jobs with very little recognition. In addition to handling their daily workload with finesse, they also invest their time, show love and concern, inspire us to be better, or lend a shoulder to cry on. In May, we have the two chances to officially recognize them and to show gratitude for all of their dedication. National Teachers Week is May 7-13 and National Nurses Week is celebrated May 6-12.
Making it Personal: Chanda M., owner of Bagoy’s Florist & Home, shares that not only did she attend Ocean View Elementary, but so did both of her sisters, and both of her daughters. “Mr Peterson was my youngest daughter’s 3rd-grade teacher. He taught his class – and reminded us all – to ‘leave the world a better place than how you found it’. That little girl is now 22, and his words continue to inspire her every day.”
Mr. Peterson is just one of the many teachers that have made a positive impact in thousands of lives. Thank the very important teacher in your life with a gorgeous flower design to brighten their desk – and don’t forget a handwritten note to express what they have meant to you!
May 6th is National Nurse’s Day – and kicks off the week-long celebration which ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. The week is meant to recognize the contributions that nurses make during some of the most poignant times of our lives. They sit with us, cry with us, hold our hands – and celebrate when a new baby arrives or a patient regains full health.
The team at Bagoy’s Florist & Home works closely with hospital staff every day, and we love these dedicated professionals. Let us know that you would like to send a special floral design to thank them during National Nurse’s Week and we will happily assist.
These occasions in May give us the opportunity to thank the unsung heroes in two challenging professions, but you can show gratitude every day! Who has made a difference in your life? You can trust the experts at Bagoy’s Florist & Home to design the florals that will touch their heart.
