With Grandparents Day quickly approaching (on the first Sunday after Labor Day in September), it’s time to think about ways to acknowledge and thank grandparents for all they do for their grandchildren and the family as a whole. In particular, the bond between grandchildren and grandparents can be very strong and lead to lasting memories. Spending time together, creating gifts for one another and simply giving encouraging words and advice are all wonderful ways to bridge the generational gap.
To honor grandparents, have children choose a beautiful floral arrangement, long-lasting plant design, or special gift to be delivered directly to Nana and Papa on Grandparents Day. The professionals at Bagoy’s Florist & Home are proud to deliver your special design anywhere in the Anchorage area, including nursing homes like Anchorage Pioneer Home, Atlas Home Care, Providence Horizon House, as well as residences in the area or in the lower 48. We have also come up with a few ways you and your family might enjoy spending time with your grandparents! Read More about Gifts To Thank And Celebrate Grandparents »

What's the best way to keep your sanity as we head into those darker, shorter days? Flowers and plants!
Bagoy's Florist & Home sees a lot of value in enjoying the rain and the yellow leaves falling as we sail into fall; the transition to the colder, darker season can be a lovely time (and an excuse to cuddle up with family in the house!). But we also know the enormous value of having flowers in the home year round, which is why we offer daily flower specials throughout the year, making it easy and affordable for you to do just that. Just in time for Administrative Professionals Day (April 25), we here at Bagoy's Florist & Home are calling attention to the condition of desks everywhere. After taking stock of the work surfaces in your place---including, but not limited to, conference tables, personal desks, common tables, reception areas and cubicles---ask yourself: Are our desks being all that they can be? Do they reflect order and efficiency? Or are they looking a little dismal and distressed? If the answer is the latter, you need a little desktop awareness in the form of new flowers and plants. The idea of National Boss Day originated in 1958, when Patricia Bays Haroski registered the holiday with the United States Chamber of Commerce. She chose October 16 as an homage to her father's birthday, and her goal was to show appreciation for her boss at State Farm Insurance Company. She also imagined that the day could serve to enhance the relationship between employees and supervisors. In 1962, Illinois Governor Otto Kerner officially proclaimed the day, which has grown in popularity and is observed not only in the United States, but also in Australia, India, and South Africa.
At Bagoy's Florist & Home, we believe that anyone who is a great leader deserves a little recognition. So for the encouragers, the promoters, and those who make our workplace a fun place to be, we say thank you! If you want to thank your great boss for all they do, we are here to help.
