They say flowers have a huge impact on our mood and mental clarity, whether we're at home or in the office. Restaurants know this, which is why they tend to have flowers on the table. If you thought it was just about decor, think again; a Netherlands study indicates the diners who are treated to a little flower action in the center of the table are in better moods.
So Bagoy's Florist thinks there's no better time to be dolling up your house with winter's finest blooms. During the holiday season, we can be stressed and tired. We have lots of entertaining to do as well, so a wonderful piece for the dining room table solves two problems at once! Read More about A Centerpiece For The Season »

Welcome
We at Bagoy's Florist and Home are excited to share that International Floral Distributors has released its predicted trends for 2018 in the area of floral design. And at the top of the list is Magnificent Mediterranean, a look we know a thing or two about.
More than any of the other three trends identified, Magnificent Mediterranean speaks to the traveler's spirit. It's a luxe, free-form look filled with flowers in colors of orange, blue and gold. These arrangements intend to evoke a sense of adventure and history. They're the kind of rich design that you have to keep looking at. Read More about 2018 Floral Trends Revealed »

Welcome
We've all played Secret Santa (or some variation on the theme) before, whether at work, among a group of friends or at a holiday party. And whatever we call it - Yankee Swap, White Elephant, or, if you're in Latin America, "Amigo Secreto" - the group gift swap has one objective, to make sure that everyone gets a present.
It's also tons of fun and an older practice than you may think. Its origins can be traced back to Scandinavia, where a Santa Claus-like figure would knock on doors and when they were answered, toss his present inside before he could be seen. Anonymity is still a key part of Secret Santa today. At Bagoy's Florist & Home, we can't help you with the staying anonymous part, but we can help with the gift part. On November 28, we celebrate Giving Tuesday, the last in a row of named days after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Unlike those other two, Giving Tuesday is not devoted to consumers and the marketplace, at least not usually. Unless you're shopping flowers at Bagoy's Florist & Home, that is. Giving Tuesday can become even more rich and meaningful when you combine it with the giving of flowers, creating two recipients - your loved one and your favorite charity - instead of just one. Welcome
November is one of our favorite times here at Bagoy's Florist & Home. As we usher in the holidays (and the season's rich, luxe blooms), there are so many occasions to design and deliver flowers for, we can hardly keep track. Dinners, parties, office events, community celebrations, school festivities - all of these require decor, and lucky for us, that's often in the form of flowers. Holiday flowers are a big deal, not just for us, but for millions of people who will be using them on their tables this season or offering them as gifts.
But the biggest big deal of all is the Thanksgiving centerpiece. If ever there was a time to make a statement with flowers, it's now. Read More about Statement Centerpieces for Thanksgiving »

Welcome
What are your Thanksgiving plans? If you're like many Americans - 50 million last year, to be exact - you'll be traveling over hill and dale at least 50 miles from your own home to break bread with the ones you love. In our view here at Bagoy's Florist & Home, that means you probably need to consider bringing a host or hostess gift.
You may already be contributing something to the table, but there's nothing quite like the courtesy shown when you come bearing a gift in hand. And since it's customary in the U.S. that we exchange chocolate or flowers, we're pretty certain we have something perfect for the occasion. Read More about Hostess Gifts with the Mostess »

How will you honor your vets or active military this Veterans Day? Will you treat them to the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra's Veterans Day Salute? Make a nice dinner, with your patriot occupying the seat of honor at the head of the table? Attend the parade? Gather with friends? Send some stars?
Let us at Bagoy's Florist & Home explain. There are so many ways to show our gratitude for the ones who have put themselves on the line to protect and defend our country. And we believe in doing all of them. But don't you think your valiant vet deserves to get some stars? Read More about Send Some Stars This Veterans Day »

If there's one flower that's more sought after than most right now, it's the dahlia. This uncommon beauty with the starry shape and manifold layers are about to go out of season, making it even more desirable. Decorating with dahlias is the perfect idea for Fall, when we're covering our tables with richly-detailed textiles, burning candles with spicier tones, and in general embellishing our interiors for the season. We at Bagoy's Florist & Home invite you to consider the complex dahlia as a worthy addition to your floral decor. Read More about Decorating with Dahlias »
